I turned on the car too quickly( without glow plug light on) on my 1980 380D station wagon and now the glow plug lamp won't even light up and I can't start it. We tried jumping it, but that did nothing - lights won't work either. I also checked the fuses and they're fine. Please help. Need the wagon to drive all the kids around.

Locate the Glow plug relay. It is on the driver's side fender under the hood. Just follow the wires connected to the glow plugs to it. Take off the cover and there will be an 80A strip fuse inside of the cover. I'd bet it is blown.
