How involved is replacing the timing chain/tensioner/etc. on a '81 300SD ?
I am comfortable with most light engine work. Is there a standard parts list ? Does it require proprietory MB tools ? I have no way of telling if this was ever done on the car, which has 190,000 miles on the clock. I do not see a sticker indicating date/mileage of replacement. Also, should I look into replacing the waterpump during this operation ? The engine runs and great in all regards and gets 27+ on the highway. Thanks |
