Wiper not going down all the way when off
I have a 93 300E 2.8 that has a monoblade that suddenly does not want to go down all the way when I turn it off. It goes down and along the full path when I start it but returns to an annoying position about an eight of the way up the path when turned off. I started after the first rain last week, I replaced the blade yesterday. Any suggestions?
Thanks! Brooke |

the monoarm wipers have a problem with a circular plastic gear ring in the main hub unit. If the wiper gets jammed against anything (i.e ice, debris) the plastic gear ring teeth strip off. I was unable to find this plastic part as a separate item in the mb parts catalogue so I was forced to buy a used complete wiper gear assembly from potomac auto parts in St. augustine fl. Hope this helps.

Thanks, wow, now I am in a quandry, live with it knowing at least the wiper works and I just have to get used to the black line across my vision, or spend the time/money to fix it. I have lived with worse (ie the vibrations from failing motor mounts, squeks from failing air pump, etc. etc.) oh well, i love my benz, i love my benz. I will follow up when I decide or...
thanks again. Brooke |
