Conclusion to Locked Trunk....Took it to the Dealer and they got it open. The short of it is, the Sliding rod was hung up and broke. The mechanic said he jacked the car up about 45 degrees (whoa)on the drivers side and wiggled the trunk lid up and down untill the rod slid back toward the passenger side into its stowed position. Go figure ??? I told him to leave the rod out as I really don't want to go through this again. All the auto-locks still function, including the trunk, as normal. Apparently, the rod acts like a dead bolt and is a secondary anti-theft device and is activated indirectly by the vacume system but is directly and mecahically operated directly by key lock. Probably more than you all wanted to know. Thanks for all the ideas and sympathy.
