Question Source for parts number book needed

Does any one know where I can get an illustrated book which shows the parts and their related factory numbers? This would be for W107 and W126 chassis cars.

I tried the eBay vendor - no luck.

Thanks.

I have never seen the dealer parts book for either of these on ebay or anywhere else. You might try www.tmcpubl.com, or send an email to cth@mbz.org.

Someone in the parts forum is offering a set of EPC CDs for less than $15.

The EPC covers all models up to the version date. It starts in the early sixties with 111,112, 110 chassis.

They are all boot-leg but are often available on ebay. One will need two CD drives or a "virtual CD" arrangemnent as both discs have to be available,

EPC

hi

i have that epc from ebay and i've yet to get it to fully work no matter what i do to the installation. i'm sure it's something that i'm doing. the only thing it does is go to the page that asks for the series # but i just can't get it to recognize 126 or w126

tks

I think it's looking for something like CB20 for 300SD or CA24 for 300SE; the 4th through 7th digits of your VIN. I don't know how you'd enter the series for early cars.

The EPC is designed to run on a proprietary Bell and Howell PC with both discs running. Getting it set up is a big problem.

The first screen up should be a picture of an SLK. In that screen the chassis number can be inserted or if you hit enter and chose "car" it will bring up a list of models which can be scrolled and clicked to enter. Very straight forward and both the sales designation (560SEL) and the identifying chassis number componenet (126.039) are listed.

Just the two cd thing, I think. In installs that I have seen the thing was loaded as an update. I have heard that it often takes a number of attempts.
