My 1994 C180 Euro had a "lowered" driver's side possibly due to a very heavy previous owner. My tech's choice was to fix this problem by removing the old pads on this side and put in the thickest available to level out the front. He did this and the front now looks normal when the car is empty, raised the driver's side my 23mm. The road feel is normal, no side effects, feels even better than before, didn't affect the alignment at all. The old pads had been deeply scored by the springs and this was why the side lost so much height.
