Replacing heater fan motor
What is the reccomended procedure for replacing the squirrel cage fan unit on a '89 190e 2.6? The bearings are shot on the exhisting unit and I have already purchased the replacement fan from my local dealer.

After doing a search on this site for you using the search feature above, here is how to do it:
Posted by daveCT on 02-18-2003 10:01 PM: just changed mine in a 86 190e 16v it takes about 30 min ,with a 8mm, 10mm ,13mm,and a screwdriver , first, grill comes out (4 , 5 nuts), the wiper linkage must come out, few bolts , slides out from passager side, blower box has 6 metal straps that pry's off easy, motor has one metal clip , pry's off easy, drop the motor in plug in , off you go. Excellent advice, THANK YOU!
...Although removing the wiper assembly wasn't as easy as I hoped. |
