When slowly accelerating the transmision isn't as smooth as when accelerating more rapidly.
Can this be adjusted? The service CD haas no info on trans or I haven't found it yet. ------------------ 1991 350 SDL 114,000 miles |

There are several vacuum controls on 1991 350SDL for transmission control. Many times even "trained" technicians have problems w/these control adjustments.

Suggest you try adjusting the modulator. It is a vac. control on the driver side of the transmission. You can find it by looking for a black plastic vac. line that is attached and also look for a plastic part that has a small rubber cap on it. Pry the cap off and there will be slots visable, in the slots will be a "key". Pull the key out far enough to bypass the slots and try adjusting it in or out 1/2 turn at a time. Turning in will be a harder shift, turning out will be a softer shift. The shift should be firm but not so hard that you feel a distinct jerk.

I have seen a small yet informative section in the cd's uder the engine section. You have to dig to find it. It gives the vaccum lay out and what the different pieces do.
