Hi,
I have some question about what car I should buy. Today I have a 190E and now I want something more powerful, not nessary bigger car. I was thinking of a 320E /400E -93 sedan or maybe a 320 CE.

Can I get some advice on:
* mpg for 320E / 400E
* how much repair if it is different
* brake different
* on my 190E I have to renew the rear disc/pads every second year due to all salt we have in Sweden, is it the same for the 320E / 400E
* any good/bad are welcomed

Thanks!
/Patrik

I do not like the coupes. I like the E320 for the power and the reliability. They are the most well rounded car in the whole fleet.

Thanks for the information, that was what I thought, the 320E is the more reliabil of these cars.

Thanks!

I think the 400E is just as reliable. I have a 92 400E and I have had not problems at all with it.

The 400E has the upside of V8 power, upgraded brakes, and most of the E320 options as standard. You will probably want to upgrade the tires (or wheels AND tires after not very long at all in the 400E. The physics of 3700lbs of car packing 300lb-ft of torque and 275HP rolling on 195/65/15 touring tires makes more rubber a popular mod. The usually griped 2.24 differential keeps mpg pretty close to the 6-cyl. Expect about 18-20mpg in town, 24-26mpg on the highway. Note: the V8's will run hotter than the 6-cyl cars. Search the shop forum for references to the 400E, E320, etc on past discussions.

Hope this helps...Lee
