I am about to replace my 300SE 89 for an E320 97 with very low millage..
Q1: What should I be looking for on the service record of the car? Q2: Any chance that my newly refurbished 15 in. mag wheels of the 89 fit on the E320 (for winter tires...) |

I highly recommennd the car. We changed from an '86 300E to a '97 E320, a great move. Two minor problems, one is the oil leak, in this series, at the timing chain cover, supposedly they have a new sealant that works better. Ours was redone at 3,000 mi. and have no further problems. The other is an intermittent leak from the differential. So far they have not fixed that, but they will before the warranty runs out.
At three years it is time to change the anti-freeze and brake fluid. The electronic trans. takes getting used to, but it is a great improvement also, good luck. Ed |

I forgot to tell you, they added 2 inches of leg space to the rear seat, but they took it out of the trunk. So if trunk capacity is important, check it out first.
Can't help you with the wheels other than try them out. Ed |
