PBR anti-squeal shims
I received the PBR Deluxe pads for my 88TE from Fastlane yesterday. They come with what looks like teflon shims with adhesive on one side. I have not used these pads/shims before, I assume that you stick the shims to the pads and then apply the anti-squeal paste to the back?

I believe the purpose of the shims is that you don't have to use paste.

Yes stick the shim to the back of the pad. Note the protruding clips on either side of the shim? After you stick the shim on you have to bend those clips down and around the pad edge. You will see grooves on either side of the pad edge to allow for this. They look something like this ] [
Make sure you put the shim on the pad the right way up. The curve at the top has to curve around the pad hole. If you block that hole you will not be able to install your pad sensor. Check out some of the pictures of pads in fastlane for guidance, particularly the Pagids they have their shims already installed. Last edited by yal; 06-19-2003 at 06:11 PM. |
