"Key left in" buzzer not working

Folks,

I just replaced my warning module (buzzer) because the driver door would not turn on the interior lights or sound the alarm. Also, the "lights on" buzzer would not work. Replacing it fixed everything.

My question is... I noticed that when I leave the keys in the ignition and open the door, there is no buzzing sound. Is there another part I need to look at?

Thanks!

There is a switch on the steering column lock shaft near the collar that secures the lock shaft to the steering column. Right behind, and to the bottom of, the opening when you remove the instrument panel.

Do you mean it is accessible when I pull the instrument cluster out on my w124? Or do you mean I have to pull out the cover under the dash?

Thanks!

I had both out when I did mine. You could probably see the switch for testiing from either top or bottom (cluster or knee panel), but since I take the knee panel out to push the instrument cluster out, I don't know if just the knee panel allows enough access.
