Lately i've noticed that my a/c on my 190e 2.3 1987 wont blow cod air. There are three
buttons to control the temp on this car,one is for the recycling of air the other is the a/c button and the other is the i believe heat button but im bot sure. Now when i depress the a/c button nothin happens, infact the car gets real hot. When i depress the the heat button the car surges and it beins to get cool but not cold. with that button depessed it will blow cold while the car is not in motion. When i begin to drive it seems to get warm. I dont understand. Can u help? I checked to see if it was a fuse but its not. So what could it be.? ------------------ |

First you need to check with your owners manual for the exact control funtions. If you don't know how to control it there is no hope for diagnosing it.
What you will eventually want to know is whether you have a refrigeration, control, or heater problem. You should see if the compressor is coming on. You should see if the heater valve is functional. It is vacuum controlled. Turn it off and on and see if the arm moves under vacuum control. With this info you can ask the right questions. That system is fairly complicated - let us know what you have going. ------------------ Steve Brotherton Owner 24 bay BSC Bosch Master, ASE master L1 26 years MB technician |
