I am in the process of purchasing a 1973 450 sl. However, I have been unable to find the stock horsepower rating for the 4.5 litre v8. Can someone help with that info? Thanks

according to 1972 road and track here are the officals:

price = 10,500 us$

bore & stroke = 3.62 x 3.35

compression ratio = 8.0 : 1

Bhp = 230 @ 5000 rpm

torque = 279 @ 3200

type fuel required : reqular @ 91 octane

interesting point...standing 1/4 mile = 17.9 sec @ 81 mph
