I had to replace a camshaft and rocker arms etc on a 1978 300D. I can not seem to get the engine to "time" correctly. Lining up the crankshaft and camshaft is not and issue but making sure the "injector timing device" is correct is not explained well in the manuals. Does it have a reference point, that I can't see? The injector pump timing is well described (has alignment reference marks) but if I rotate the engine by hand I can not get the injection point to "fire" at the correct time.

Any help appreciated.

Dennis
