Please help if anyone knows why when I set my dwell at 48 which is what the shop manual says my car runs worse. It was at 30 and I changed it to what the manual said and it runs slow when I first start to drive and the idle dropped. Once i am driving a littlewhile it runs fine. i checked the timing and it was fine. My car is a 75 230 Gas Ca smog equiped car.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. |

If your car is the carburated model, they have had many problems with the choke not operating as planned. Have it checked.

Definately, if you're having problems with setting the points' gap, see a mercedes mechanic. I thought it was a do-it yourself job (something as simple as the points) and when I messed with it I got all kinds of starting problems and funny idling. Hope this helps.
