1990 300E 2.6 Belt Tensioner Replacement
I am replacing my belt tensioner, tensioner shock, adjusting rod, and fan clutch bracket. I am down to the tensioner, but I am having trouble removing the water pump pulley. How can I prevent it from moving as I attempt to remove the 3 bolts that hold it in place.
I removed all but one of the bolts holding the bracket in front of the tensioner. The bolt on the far left of the bracket is loose but it will not come out of it's hole. Is this normal? My concern is, once I do remove the pulley, will the bracket holding the tensioner come off? Please advise. Richard Last edited by Rp1906; 09-30-2003 at 09:42 PM. |

I just did this on a 1900e-2.3.I used a rubber belt "wrench" I got at pep boys to hold the pulley. The bolts holding the bracket should come stright out ..Its abit of a job----not much room.Good luck.
