Oil Leak

My 1993 300E is leaking oil. It has been detected to be leaking from the head gasket near the front by the timing chain cover. Mechanic says he needs a special tool to remove timing chain, does anyone have a source for this tool? or know how much it will cost? or any other info/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
