I have one of the new style hand priming pumps for my 1985 300TD ( Black plunger). Is there any disadvantage to using this type versus one of the old style white plastic ?

This style pump has been only part avail at dealers for over 5 years. Many aftermarket parts suppliers still sell old style & new as well. Much easier to pump with new style.
