2002 S55 Amg

I just bought a 2002 S55 AMG, 26,000 miles, the cost was $62,000.00, a beautiful car but I hate the frosted XENON headlights.

300ce

My smoke siver beauty cost me $7500 usd 18 months ago with 74000 miles on it. It was sitting lonely at a chrysler dealership in Virginia traded in sadly by its first owner for a 300M! I picked her up for a song and am the carfax verified 2nd owner. Great little car and heck of a deal!

Cliffy300CE,

Beautiful car! What wheels and tire size are those? Any fit problems?

Beatiful car. Good pick up.
Those look like 16" Borbet wheels...

But yours are probably the W210 E430 sport wheels that came in 17". The Borbets have a softer profile.

Thumbs up 91 300ce

My 91 300CE, black on black (with gray cladding), 94K documented miles, lots of receipts, plus I had them make several repairs (maintenance items, really) including new rotors, pads and sensors, a tranny service, LOF, plugs, wires, cap, basically most of the 90K service interval. They also put brand new Falken tires on it.

$11,400

I'm probably a sucker, but I love the car and had to trade in a brand-new Ford truck that I hated. (Well, hate is a strong word, I suppose...)

I'm replacing injectors, HAV, monobelt, O2 sensor, to get rid of a bit of hesitation.

Interior is really perfect; a few slight cracks in wood in a couple places only.

91 Ce

That's a sweet car.

IMHO, if you are happy with it you didn't spend too much. Can't put a price tag on love. I have between $7-8k into my car. It would sell for about $3500-$4000. Don't care.

I believe yours has the M104 DOHC engine, same as the '93,'94 E320, that have had all that wiring harness trouble you may want to expect that or ask around here.

I changed the O2 sensor in my car. I don't think it was necessary since it didn't change the performance or fuel economy (I thought it would increase mpg).

I purchased a 1989 300 CE with 130K for 6,100 recently. The car is in near mint condition and came from florida one owner so it has no rust anywhere. Over all yes it was a good deal, maintanence is Kind of ugly though LOL.. recently sunk 600 for a tune up. too bad I am not good with a wrench

1992 300TE 4-MATIC: purchased 5/2003 for $8,000; 121,000 miles; was in pristine condition and I knew the 2 previous owners; I have spent approx. $2000 to fix things; I feel I got a good deal due to the overall condition of the car.

1990 300CE: purchased 5/2004 for $5800; 171,000 miles; I wanted a coupe and this was the best price/color/condition I could find in 6 months of looking; dealers wanted amazing $; I have had 20,000 miles trouble-free but I have a problem now that may cost me $1500.

I personally would not own a M-B if I did not know how to work on cars. But as an engineer and having worked on/built/modified cars for 45 years, I do love my M-B's. They are a better engineered and executed Jaguar, although I would not trade my Jaguar for one.

Way too expensive to have work done by others.

Recently purchased 1992 300E 4Matic with 161,000 miles for $1900. Had head gasket replaced for $800 1500 miles ago. Only problem is that the 4matic does not work. Light stays on constantly, although the system is not being activated. Going to start out with a fluid change as I found out it is low after checking today. Not sure what it will take to get it going, but for the $2700 I'm in, I think I have done good. Car is in nice shape, black on black leather, previous owner spent $350 last year fixing ac leak and changing over to 134a, Michelin tires have 70%.
