I have a 1978 450 SL. I had originally thought I just had a buned out headlight(Low Beam) on the passenger side. Bu when I was checking it out, I noticed that the low beam worked when I had it set to high beam. I have a 4 headlight syetem(plus the 2 driving lights).
Do I have a bad low beam, or is there an elictrical problem? Thanks, Don Solomon 1978 450 SL Durango, CO |

Most likely you do have a headlight bulb problem. There are separate filaments for low and high beam within the bulb. The fact that it works in "High" has no relavance except to prove the ground circuit.

Do your low beams work when replaced and then blow ?
Could be a problem with the voltage regulator on the back of the alternator. AARON ROCHARD 1976 230.4 |
