Angry 1990 300TE Climate Control Help

Hello,

Problem: no blower, have ambient heat and directional control.

I just changed the control module and tested the fan (both new and OK) on my 90 300TE.

I should have listened earlier, but now I'm hearing a buzzing from something (?) right below the washer fluid tank. I'm guessing this is my problem.

Can anyone assist in telling me what this part is and if a swap out is as easy as it looks?

Thanks.

Doug

Could be the aux water pump, which sits on the coolant line from the pass. side of the block to the firewall, although some vibration should be normal. Purpose of the pump is to keep hot water flow to the heater core up when the engine is idling, but it shouldn't be necessary once the car is moving. Maybe the monovalve is shot? That sits on the same coolant line by the battery, I think.

Doug,
Have you checked the blower fuse? To properly check it you should remove it from the holder. They'll get hairline cracks that are invisible to the eye but will fall apert when their unscrewed from the holder.

90 300TE Climate Control Help

Hello,

Thanks for the replies.

I checked the fuses, all OK, and (if I'm remembering right) the fuse on the TE works some other 'things' as well.... and they all work.

Doug,
The 30 A blower fuse is dedicated to the blower. It sits in its own holder on the left fender.
