Does anyone have any idea about how to remove the cruise control amp from the bracket under the dash of my 1985 300D? There's a wiring harness in the way and I'm afraid to touch it!

The primary side of ANY auto can't shock you... Just take off the connectors and take loose the bolts holding the bracket on. When done, just reconnect at the same place and you will be fine.
