Smile Location of AC cabin filter C230 1998

I would like to check the cabin AC filter on our 1998 C230 to see if it needs replacement -- any idea where it is located ?

Under the glovebox. Remove the three scroews holding the trim panel on and climb under the dash. Slide the release panel aside and pull the panel out and then pull the filter out.

Replace often to keep your HVAC system (and you) healthy...

What's your opinion on "often"? I'd recommend every other FSS service, or if you change oil more often than that, I'd do it every 20-25000 miles.

Gilly, I do an "enhanced" A-service every 15,000km's (about 10K-miles) where I replace the cabin dust filter and engine air filter.

Here's my routine:

Every time the FSS counts down 5K-km's (3K-miles) I change the oil and filter (usually works out to 7500km's/4500miles in "real" miles) and then when the FSS "zeros" I do the above.

Every 48K km's (about 30K-miles) I change the plugs.

Every 60K-km's (~40K-miles) I change the fuel filter.

Every 80K-km's (~50k-miles) I change the final drive oil.

Every 100K-km's (~60K-miles) the tranny fluid (dealer does).

Despite the changes on the C-Class, I still have the brake fluid and coolant changed every other spring, like the "old" MB service schedule.

At the "A" services I check the car carefully from top to bottom.
