ABS sensor - Is this bad? (Big Picts, 56K DANGER)
I have the infamous intermittent ABS light problem in my ‘94 e420. Today while changing the front pads I took out the ABS sensors. Look for yourself.
LEFT RIGHT Needless to say, I'm going to clean them off and hope it fixes my ABS light problem. BTW anybody have a guess as to where all those filings are coming from? |

The sensor looks normal although a tad dirtier than I would expect to see. Just ckean them off with brake cleaner. The metal shavings can come from semi-metalic pads and the wear of the rotors. The sensors are magnetic, or become magnetized, and attract the shavings. Probably a good idea to clean the stator plate, or what ever the toothed ring on the back of the rotor is called too.
