About 3-4 months ago I remember reading a post about fixing the "trip odometer" on a 300E. I dont recall the exact procedure but remember something about re-attaching a gear to its shaft to prevent it from being loose. My question is, is there a procedure to fix the "main-odometer". It's stuck on 162K. The speedometer is working fine. I am planning on fixing both (trip and main) at the same time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The gear that you are talking about causes both odometers to quit. If you feel up to it we can provide the gear. www.continentalimports.com

It's an easy DIY repair job. The procedure was posted in Nov/99 (search 'odometer' and 'Barrie').
If you can't find it, let me know and I'll be glad to re-post. |
