I am doing the ugrade to the front brakes on our 190E 2.6 using the front brakes from the 400E/E420. I know I will need knew rotors, pads, and calipers.

What year and model should I be looking for as a replacement for the front brakes. I saw different rotors for:
92 400E w124 v8
93 400E w124 v8
94-95 E420 w124 v8

so which one to use? Is it safe to assume that the 94-95 E420 were probably better. But I need to make sure that 15" wheels will still fit on them for the winter time.

I plan on using the 15x7 OE MultiSPoke wheels Luke from TIreRack has for $35. I was told the 15x6 that come with the 190E would not fit, and since i have dustshields, i m sure the heat build up will be incredible even though they are ventilated.

Any helps appreciated. Thanxs.

The 1993 & later are better quality, the 1992 cars had severe rotor warpage problems. We changed many of the 1992 systems to 1993 style under warranty, after repeated warranty failures. The 190E is a much lighter car & either should do.

1993 (11/92) 400E front rotors were upgraded from 22.4mm to 25mm thicknesses (94-95 E320/E420 rotor were the same as well)

The thinner rotors won't work on the newer calipers since there is an added lip inside that will rub on the narrower vented center (8mm vs 10.5mm)
