Hello MB guru's.
Well, a month or so back I told you all my automatic 81 300D was not catching in park, and also it will not start in park. Have to put it in neutral. Also the shifter seems a little loose. Some of you said I need to check and adjust the parking pawl and also linkage bushinsgs. I'm looking at my "fairly" trusty Haynes manual. Shows the basic linkage, but that's it. Are the bushing and pawl under the shift consol, or are down shift lever at the trans? I've not even looked at it yet, but assuming at the transmission. I have no experience with transmissions. Thanks. |

Best thing here is to replace the shift rod bushings that are under the car. Do this first before any adjustment is made.

Thanks Benzmac, will do.
By the way, after I posted, I found an old IMPCO catalogue which showed just what I needed. Forgot I had it. Phill |
