Sounds similar to my problem, although mine is not as severe as yours. Seems like a common problem. This idle problem may be caused by:
1. Throttle actuator (approx $1,100 ouch!)
2. Air mass meter
3. Wiring harness
4. Vacuum leak
5. Idle control valve
