I would strongly urge you not to go ahead without the two little prongs from MB.

I've pulled my cluster. I bought a pack of replacement bulbs and I did the whole cluster (fuses included) with the tools.

Remember too that you have to disconnect the speedometer cable from the tunnel area under the car aft of the transmission (near the front flex disc).

The tools are used together to "wiggle" the cluster forward. They are precision made and are just the right size to "wiggle " that cluster forward.

The tool is something like 30 bucks, that is from the dealership (I'm in Canada) and is about the same cost as the packet of bulbs and replacement fuses (the red one on the back of the cluster).

It is cheap insurance since, if you press down too hard on the cluster and break the plastic cover glass, your gonna be out of pocket much more.

Cheap outs are not worth it....

Best of luck in your repair.
