Part

Hi,
I am not comfortable buying through the net since I get impatient waiting for the item. Just go to a real store.
You are buying a W140 blower regulator. All blower regulators regardless of what S-class series are the same.
Better try to remove your existing blower regulator on your E-class and bring it to a Benz parts store. If you are lucky, they may have one in stock. But if they don't, just get the S-class version and compare the wiring difference. It is a BEHR brand.

Part.

Hi,
Try to also check the condition of the Blower. Locate the carbon brushes and see if it is worn out. A common problem of this is that when it is quite worn out, it is noisy (squeaky sounding) and that it does not spin as fast as when it was new.
If you think it is worn out then contemplate changing the entire system to the updated one since the blower is not easily repairable. You may change the carbon brushes but it will not last long since aftermarket carbon brushes are not compatible to the one used by the Bosch blower. Also, I think the old blower is a hard to find item. Unless-again you may be lucky to find it in a salvage benz shop.
But if the blower is fine, just invest on that blower regulator. If it last 2-3 years then it is worth it.

The best alternative is the Behr regulator. It is an improved product, much bigger and clearly better heat disapated.

If you get it for a 140 chassis it will comes with some instructions showing it is applicable to 210 chassis. it also has a removable harness that allows conversion without soldering on the device.

Steve where can I get the Behr regulator?

Also I want to buy online mainly for the cost savings. I am in the Dallas. TX area if you guys know of any parts stores that sell this item at a comparable price as online then could you let me know because I am dying without A/C. I am willing to spend an extra $20 to buy it in a store but the dealer has this part for $368 and I will wait for the $192 one rather than pay almost double.

You should be able to get it through fastlane as even though the mini catalog you see doesn't show it. In the bigger version of their catalog it gives two parts the one shown on fastlane and this one: (see fig).

I would be happy to sell you the cheaper one for 190 but would need 223 for the Behr. The part if bought through MB will look like the one in the fastlane catalog. The Behr is a redesign of a poor design. mB never redesigned the 140 but they did the 210. Only their redesign of the 210 requires a new blower. The Behr handles the load better.

Steve,

I am going to get the Behr model for $223. Do you have a number I can call to order the part because I don't have a part number and couldn't do a search for it on partshop.
