Hi, The right rear power window in my 300TE stopped working recently. After taking the door panel off, I hit it with a hammer and it worked for awhile but got hot. Any advice?
Thanks, Carl |

You can try to straighten and lubricate the rails but, most likely the motor is on its last leg. I had to changed mine, after trying different things.
Good luck! J.H. 300E |

Also keep in mind during those years there was a lot of broken wires within the door hindge. Hold the switch in one direction or the other and open/close the door at the same time. You may have moved the door enough to contact wires by hitting it with a hammer

Nothing better than a good scientific approach to trouble shooting . Does the window not operate with either switch, i.e. the front or rear. If it works from the rear and not the front, replace front switch and vice versa.
