Presently using the stock coolant temperature switch (MB no. 006 545 14 24) to activate a Bosch aux. fan on a 1970 280 SL. The switch is located at the top of the thermostat housing and activates at 100 deg C. [The T-housing is a stock unit, standard to the M130 engines.]
Looking for a comparable switch that would activate at a lower temp, perhaps 95 deg. C, to help compensate for the extended heat wave we're experiencing. The engine's cooling system was recently overhauled and upgraded, but the thermal load from the A/C is still taxing the system. MBNA states no alternate switch exists. Anyone have any info on alternate switch availablility, perhaps from a different marque? TIA. |
