Exclamation Help! Engine Seized?! (%$^&*@!#)

We are talking about a 1991 300D 2.5 Turbo w/ 185K miles. It was going down the road and "just died". No noises, but then the guy driving it is nearly deaf. (After eliminating all the easy stuff) I pulled all the injectors, put a 3ft "breaker bar" on the crank and could not turn it. At all. Now the problem is that nothing seems out of place!
It is not overdue for an oil change.
Oil level is appropriate and does not smell burnt.
Coolent level is appropriate.
Timing chain is still there and appears tight.
Overboost should be ruled out, as the overboost protection was all gone over two months ago and determined to have a tired spring in the wastegate and she wouldn't give you more than 9psi for anything in the world! (and the car was traveling a steady 45mph when she died)
I have done all the service on this car personally since 30k miles, so I know it is not from lack of care. The only thing I can think is that the engine somehow dropped a freaking valve into a cylinder. Is it possible that the torque converter locked up?!
I need suggestions and fast!! It is a beautiful car and would be a damn shame if it was f$*#@ed.

Anyone selling a "taps" trumpet?......

Sometimes things just happen. Is the vacuum pump original? Original VP's had a open bearing design & its possible on e of the balls in the bearing caused the motor to jump time. Possible that a rod bent such that the cylinder is hitting a counterweight on the crank too - saw that on a 420 motor this week.

Think this car has a chain driven oil pump. Perhaps it dropped the chain and the bearings seized due to lack of oil? Be a darn shame, these are nice cars and we don't have nearly enough of them over here.

I don't know if this has any bearing on the situation, but when trying to shove it around in my shop, it is much harder to push than it should be. No e-brake on and it just had a full brake job (inc calipers) not muych ore than a year ago.
Just makes me think....
I am dying to find out what locked this car up....
