You have a Euro version, so you don't have a CSS.
Here are the different systems used throughout the PES MFI systems.

See which one you have..

Also, check the oil level in the pump. There is a dipstick at the rear of the pump with "T' hanndle.. it unscrews.. too high a level is worst than low.
Also , if you have RPM increase in R but None in D , check the 3 wire terminal block on the side of the tranny.. you may have a broken wire at that terminal board. if it uses one. .one side is for R pressure and one for D..

thanks Arthur,
The wires at the tranny look good. I'll have to get a volt meter on there to confirm. My injection pump doesnt have a dipstick, just a red cap with breather holes. Is it possibly just different or is the stick broken off?

Take care

All 250se have a dipstick oil check, as that pump is a Bosch R18 and they have there own oil resevoir. Only the later pumps used crankcase forced oil lube. { M130 eng /Bosch R20 and on pumps]]
It is hard to see.. look at the very rear casing of the pump, down lower than the knurled mixture knob.. Sometimes they get lost and someone subs a cap screw for it, but if you have the red cap that says 'OEL' , you have a dipstick.
This is a very important check as that is the lube for the lower workings of the pump.. They usually run out or they get over-full from gas dilution from plunger blow-by..Overfull is bad cuz it effects the governer weights , which are solely responsible for air/fuel mix throughtout the RPM ranges...
I have had owners bring there MFI in and have never had this checked and did not even know it was there, even some serviced at Dealers.
If it is full to fill line on dip, but is dirty/black ,change it.. as these pumps are getting scarce and big $$$$$$ replacement cost.
I always change this oil every year/10K miles ..Reg 30 motor oil...
Cap is 8/9 ounce........................
