Installing new chrome

I have a question about installing new chrome on my 1974 280.

I'm looking into installing new chrome around the windshield of my 280. Wanted to know (1) How do you take it off? (2)What do I need to install the new chrome?

Thanks for you help,

The piece of chrome around the sides and top of the windshied are pressed into the rubber seal before the window is installed. It acts as a stiffener to hold the windshield in the rubber. The bottom piece is held to the body with clips and can be pulled forward. Sometimes the clips come loose from the body and need to be pop rivited back on. This has been my experience on the '76.
If you plan to replace the chrome I would suggest replacing the windshield seal aslo.

You can buy the trim removal tool at most any auto parts chain store. However, you cannot remove the chrome on the sides and top without damaging the windshield seal. Does your windshield currently leak?
