They aren't any more expensive to maintain than any other 30+ year old German car.

Mine stays up in storage, without running the engine, for 6 months then starts to drop very slowly. the only time it had its rockers on the ground was after strut replacement.

Exactly as it should be . Any major sinking indicates a fault.
