Upholstery stuffing

Has anyone thought of sourcing seat pads from a source other than GAAH or World Upholstery? Specifically from a Volkswagen supplier? I was Looking at Wolfsburg West. They've got rubberized horsehair seat pads for $31. They also have felt material to be used as fill to round out contours. The seat frame construction of the 68-73 VW bugs seems remarkably like Mercedes. See 1968-1975 Bug front bottom seat pad
I've emailed them asking for dimensions, but haven't had a response. My other choice would be high density foam.
Any thoughts?

I've had the same thought but don't know if any VW stuff would be close in size. Maybe split a VW bench seat in two for our bucket seats.

Answer

Not yet.
My friend and I have been busy with major events.

The Woodward Dream Cruise

and

Home

We are looking at doing the W115, W116, W123, and W126 before year end.

Until we have hard data on material, time, labor, and develop patterns it is in a holding pattern.
