Those clear invisible bra, material

Hay guys,

Does anyone know where I could get a role of the material they use for the invisible bra?? A cheap source for it if possible.

I know 3m makes it.

A role of 1.5 to 2 wide will be fine.

thanks
blau

Lots of body shop supply places sell it; just call around. I priced it out at something like $120 a roll. A roll was enough to do 4 or 5 cars. In the end I chickened out and took the car to a body shop to have it done for about the same price as roll. I have heard it is not easy to do yourself.

By the way I had a car with this on back in 1989. It was a new product then. I found that it got a hazy after about 3 or 4 years. I peeled it off and the paint underneath was just like new. The plastic peeled off easily. I strongly recommend it.

What's the invisible bra? My 2000 E320 has the silver paint and it chips pretty bad in the front. It's probably too late now for it. Also, what to do about the chipped areas? I have about a dozen the size of pinheads. The MB dealer suggested touch up paint, which I dont think would look too great. Is airbrushing an option?

It is a clear plastic film that sticks to the paint. It is sold under various trade names but I believe all of them are actually a product from 3M. One company that sells cut pieces is xpel.com. Your dealer or many body shops will carry it.

If you don't have too many stone chips I suggest that you get them touched up and then apply the 3M product. I would not get the hood repainted as generally repaints are even more prone to chipping than the original paint.

We had it dealer installed on my wifes Audi, works great. I don`t know what it costs, because after we agreed on the price, I had do it for free.

I know you can purchase this material from Griots Garage. You should be able to find them online at www.griotsgarage.com, they sell the 3m product in different sizes. I've heard really good things about it too but I have yet to try it. Good luck and let us know what you think if you do apply it.
