I wouldn't touch that car, I don't care how good the price is. If you manage to get a PPI done how will he take it if they find a problem? This guy seems a little off, I wouldn't want the stress of dealing with him.

Besides the $10k bid seems a little strange.

Little warning bell:

High bidder "User ID kept private."

With all the strange stuff going on, this one doesn't pass the sniff test.

Good point.....

I should have added, people who do the private bid thing usually have something to hide. Another bell should be going off when you see that.

Well on some real expensive items the ID's seem to be kept private. I would imagin if you put a winning bid on a Gullwing people would probably spam you a lot to get you to buy stuff.

Bigbabbo Clone Discovered in Chicago Area

AP Chicago -
Area Mercedes-Benz™ enthusiasts are reporting the discovery of what appears to be a clone of the west coast's eBay and Mercedes replacement parts nemesis, Bigbabbo.

In separate telephone interviews, Mercedes-Benz™ owners TX76513 and boneheaddoctor commented on receiving abusive e-mails from a Chicago area used car sales person that were remarkably similar to the railings received by others from Bigbabbo, the well known eBay Power Seller.

in reply to my 'got cojones' email, he sent the following :

------------------------------------------

It's a dream car. After the auction, you can come with me, the new
owner and any club member and we'll go for a 200-mile trek.

I've got'em. Fly to ORD - we're 15 minutes (with this car) from the
airport.

This morning - to Milwaukee, from 90-125mph, the car hunkered, quieted
down and f-l-e-w. Then I parked, bought a once-in-a-lifetime '97
E320WD with 151K original miles and drove back at a comfortable average
of 87mph on cruise control.

I don't want to hear that my '85 300D Turbo (123-body) doesn't get up to
38mpg, either. It does. Tomorrow I'm in Atlanta to pick up a 300CD
Turbo - MINT - with 57K original. It'll be tuned on my arrival to
Chi-town, and be tweaked to achieve 30-35mpg.

BUT - let's not bicker about garbage. My cars are the finest
mechanically available anywhere in the US. Believe it. When you see
the shop where my technicians work - you'll never send an email with
engine-inventory again.

Hopefully - you'll be a customer. Any of the vehicles now on-line are
show-stoppers, excluding the "taxi" 300D Turbo that has rusting on the
body due to 20 years in Chicago.

No hard feelings,

don't you know cutting your coils to lower it gains you power, and you can get almost 400hp by "tweaking" the Alda.

Type R stickers with get you an extra 20% on those mods.............

I love this line the best:

"Then I parked, bought a once-in-a-lifetime '97
E320WD with 151K original miles and drove back at a comfortable average
of 87mph on cruise control."

I love this, those E320's are so rare, I only see a few dozen a day. What does the WD stand for?

This guy must have some sort of complex where he needs to talk up his cars and make up stories to make himself feel important. Come on any MB shop that knows anything about 603's knows not to use green coolant. That alone says a lot about his "shop" to me. Not to mention the dirty brake fluid, come on that is MB maintaince 101.

there are so many cops on the i starting at the border he would have been toast at any time. there are usually 3 between here and the exit my wife gets off at 7 miles later.

87 on the way south? maybe south of milwaukee on a weekday yes. there is a lot of waaay to fast people from illinois doing that.

isn't there a really good hot hungarian sausage? isn't tony paco(remember klingers favorite place in m*a*s*h*?) from paco's hotdogs in toledo hungarian? lets all go to tonys!
