Diesel questions

i have two questions
1-how quick is a 1994 S350D, is it slow or faster than it seems with 148HP 230Lb ft and 4600 Lbs curb.

2-are there many power mods for the W210 E300D, chips, diffs anything that will add power without losing gas mileage or reliability in the long run.

diesel questions

E320 Wagon94,any mod you make to put more go into a gasser or oil burner
it is going to take feed for the horses, usually the more go the more feed the horses want.
It is a good thought and would make a great project.

speed

i have never driven the 94 350sd. i have a 90 350 which is lighter, probably weighs at least 4,000 p0unds though. it is a lot faster than i thought it would be. compared to the 617 turbo motor it develops a lot of torque at a lower rpm and really gets down to business right away.

i did drive a 320 gas about same year, 94, it was a lot quicker than i expected too. apparantly it has fairly low gears and a happy transmission combination.

Careful, a 300D would get terrible gas mileage.

Quick and fast are not the same thing... It's quick enough to get underway with competence in traffic, but it won't win drag races. It is fast enough to get you a ticket you can't afford, but then almost any M-B will top 100mph.

M-B has determined that the 'stock' OM606 is the best combination of power, mileage, reliability and EPA-certification that they can achieve. Modifications are available, your mileage will vary...

Best Regards,
Jim

An S350D is pretty quick they will crack 120 in good tune and get you into jail. Fast no they are the slowest W140 importated. An S320 will walk away from one and comparing one to an S600 wouldn't be fair.

E300D's are pretty quick and get good fuel mileage. If you want good mileage keep it stock because to get more hp more fuel must be burned.

Both are good cars but like any W140 make sure the evap has been done.
