By the way, -40 is -40 no matter which system you are using. Formula is F = (C*9/5) + 32, so that makes -40 the magic number.

with those kind of temps you will need a two-tank system with a heated tank, heated filter, hih lines, a heat exchanger close to the ip, and a veg-therm or other inline heater right next to the i.p.. you might even want to hih back to the tank as well, though most people (including me) wouldn't. but most people don't live in -40. i personally wouldn't even bother using wvo unless the temps were above 10 degrees fahrenheit or so, because it would take so long to heat up the oil in the tank. but only experience will tell, and i haven't even completely hooked up my system (same car, '79) yet, so whaddo i know.

ps you're not going to get by with a cheapo kit in those temps or anything near them.

HIH= hose in a hose. a method of heating the fuel line from engine to tank via a coolant filled hose that has fuel line running inside of it.

Honestly from all my reading HIH is really not that much a benefit over HOH (hose on a hose) and way more risk potential to get coolant leakage into the fuel. Potential major IP damage if that comes about and it has happend. IMHO do HOH. Dana lives in Minnisota and it gets frigid as a witches..... ah you know... there.

With those temps you want www.frybrid.com. Talk to Chris the owner he can hook you up with what you need. There is also a great forum on his site. In my opinion he makes the best WVO kits I have seen... When my 350SDL is back up and running with a new head, I am ordering his kit.
