Don't know what you're referring to.

That might be from using too caustic an engine cleaner product. There’s some residue on the upper radiator hose too.

It’s a nice car. But look at image 23 of 24. Everything is nice and shiny except the VC. I own a CA-sourced 300CD. The VC is pristine metal. That white flake comes from living outdoors in humid, wet environments. It doesn’t match with the shininess of the rest of the engine, and makes me
Slightly doubt the car’s origin and mileage.

It’s a nice car all the same, IMO.

I wasn't sure what you meant by VC, couldn't find it in a search but it occurred to me 'valve cover' is what you were referring to. Who knows, it has a nice body, could be he's pushing it a bit. The seats don't look SD original, more like 123 seats. Also, did 81s have air bags? That's gotta be an air bag steering wheel, right?

MBtex was available in SDs. Electric seats weren’t available in US 123s.

That’s not an airbag steering wheel. US 126 airbags started in ‘84.

I agree that's an optimistic price. Will be lucky to get $5k out of it.

The antique ferric oxide in the expansion tank alone is worth $5000

I’ve seen a lot of nice SDs go for over $5k. If no dash cracks, no tears, no rust, good paint, they’re a far cry from most of the trash out there.

Flip?

No, I just have some extenuating bills to pay due to a gap in employment and the project car is the first thing to go. I don’t necessarily want to sell it, just have to.

Unhappy Gotta Sell

Bummer that .

It's a dark color and you're in HOTazona so maybe it's for the best, you'll hopefully find another, lighter colored one .

I'm too old to go off chasing new rainbows else I'd build something with the OM603 engine ~ I'm a die hard i6 engine lover since childhood....
