Let's here what the outcome of the spring pads people have used is. I have a thread in diesel tuning to that effect.

I just recently became interested in lowering my 84 300cd ,purchased a set of 03 500sl rims ,their 17 s with just enough clearance but not enough for comfort .Ill be ordering a set of 10mm spacers and want to know if APEX makes a good lowering set. Ive google their product and they do have a dealer out of Canada .Anyone buy a set for their car?
Ok ,first to get pics up ,wins.

Look vs. Problems

I really like the look of the lowered 123's, but there has not been much posted about the performance results.

Any issues with alignment, handling, or ride comfort?

trying to do pix

lets see if this will work for me.
I am very happy with the springs! the whole car used to do this squat thing if you stepped on the accelerator hard, at or nearly stopped, the front end would rise and the back would drop (my daughter called it 'boating up', which is about as good a discription as any). the handling is much better waaaay less body roll. The pads that I took out were 4 pips front and 1 pip back. I put in new 1 pip front and 3 pips back. -here's the pix (i hope)

Thanx

Kudos first to "Rudolph Green" for the huge job of getting us the springs.
-and also esp. to "Winmutt" for the guidance as what spring pads were working for him. I am very happy with my results, but would have had to do it a number of times before I got the pads right if I hadn't been able to follow in his footsteps

spring pads

I agree. After driving around for a while my car has no rake. I have 2-nubs front and 1-nubs rear...planning on putting 2-nubs in the rear instead, but no time yet. Otherwise, the springs are still awesome Tweaking the ride height on any car can do wonders for looks!

Ding dong Ding.

I thinks it time we find out if Vogtland will make us some sway bars as well. Still checking but it looks like the the 15mm are NLA.

I will be installing mine soon. What else should I replace while the springs are out?

The springs in the front are very nice- a drastic improvement over stock if you ask me. Has any wagon owner installed a set on the rear?

Just wondering, are there any extras around? im sure i am too late on this but my 300D Turbo needs new springs quite bad and i have heard amazing things about the vogtland springs. Also if anyone here knows about any Bilstien sport shocks for the w123 id also be interested in those. Right now i am about to do an overhaul of the suspensions and wheels, new 14 in Bundts refinished by Wheel Collision Center are on the list also any info on the sway bars would be appreciated also.

Thanks guys, and ill post pics once i get a digital camera ha.
