First thing is to check the fuses - closely - they can look good, yet have a hairline crack. Sometimes I use needlenose pliers to turn them a little, just in case the contact points are corroded.

fuses, switches or the motor itself

an easy way to see if power is getting to the motor is:

while the engine is running (idle, parked) operate the switch to the window that doesn't work. if you notice a change in idle speed (it's slight), then power is making it to the window motor, which means the motor is bad.

Does anyone know why two diagonally opposed windows would not work?

On my 80 SD, the right front and left rear don't run, but the other two work fine. One window on each switch pair. From the fuses, it looks like they should be connected fronts on one fuse, rears on the other, but I could be mistaken.

Check the switches also. If they are original, the grease becomes a hinderance, and if the switches ever got something spilled on them, the contacts like to rust an corrode. Also, check the wiring at the door. Sometime the wires either rub or break from the action of the opening and closing. Check fuses like stated above.

Also, do a forum search for inoperative windows, and window switch cleaning.

Maybe work on spelling? seriously though, try replacing the fuses that go to the windows. I have had a couple fuses that went bad, and looked to be brand new. A voltage meter proved that wrong. Also, maybe try the back window switches in the rear doors. i know on my 300D i thought the back right side door's window didnt work. turns out its just the switch in the front

Remove and replace fuse #7. Clean the brass contacts when the fuse is removed.

Do not look at the fuse or spin the fuse.

Replace the fuse with a brand new fuse.

If the windows don't work, find the power window relay and exchange it with another, identical relay in the box.

The power window relay is inside the fuse box.

There are two rows of relays........one closest to the firewall and one closest to the front of the vehicle.

The power window relay is in the row that is closest to the front of the vehicle. It's the second relay from the right side (passenger side) of the vehicle.

Report back with results.

Can't comment specifically on the W116, but the W126 uses diagonal window logic on each fuse. The LF and RR windows are on one fuse. The RF and LR windows are on a different fuse.

And, all the windows are on a third fuse that feeds the relay.

Non of the switches work at all,as I said looks like the power don't go to them at all.
As far as the spelling goes, English is my second language.Learn how to speak on the street ,never took any classes at all.
Come on give me a brake.
Thanks.
