The car definitely has the later model seat back storage nets and later climate control. My hunch, it is a 1984 model year turbo diesel. If you look closely, the vehicle does not have a heat shield on the EGR tube. I am almost certain (if the engine is in an original configuration) that the heat shield for the EGR tube last appeared in the 1983 model year. Also the engine has a vacuum box on top of the valve cover, which 1985 model year does not have. So it narrows down to 1984.

Good price for it so far.

That is a question mark. Is it stolen, salvage, flood??? you don't know. this is the second go around for this car. First time it hit $1200 and something reserve not met.I am not buying something that has had the plates changed without an explanition.

I just called and got an answering machine for "microsystems" or something like that. I'd go check it out personally because I'm about 20-30 minutes from Largo,FL. Heck the parts alone would be good at $500.

It is BS that this clown is representing this car though. Clearly not a 1977.

It's clearly not a 77. Those wheels weren't available until early 80s I believe.

I also called the guy... foreign and defanatly clueless... lots of "I don't know" and "I bought the car in 77"... I asked him for a photo of the doorjam plate and he gave me the "I don't know" ... I feel for the sap who bids on this and wins...
my guess is gutted vehicle, and TONS of parts swapped from donor vehicle.

I just checked the pic of the engine, the data plate IS there, but it looks like it was either photoshoped in, or screwed in... odd. I vote a stolen car with junker vin plate on it. this is OBVIOUSLY not the correct vin for that car. the paint is correct inner fender and outside, but it does not match what the vin shows it to be... couple that with the "I don't know" responses... STOLEN. or FLOOD workaround... EGR in a 77 HA! Oh, notice the "leather seats"... also, why no pics of the instruments? I'll bet they have black buttons... FAR from "nicest on ebay"... note the "get vehicle history report" button on the right of the auction? ... "vehicles After 1981"... sounds like a slippery one to me.

musta been a proto type for the 84 model. If he bought the car in 77, he know why it has an 84 motor and engine. If he lied about buying the car in 77......what else is he lying about. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE
