Intro, injector line question, manuals question
Hello all,
I'm Tami, and have just purchased a 1987 TDT wagon to bring home to Mississippi. "'Ti Blanc" (already named her) nearly home after 1400 mile trip when the #3 injection line broke at the pump-side ferrule. Messy, but not life threatening. Part is on order from dealer. Incidentally, BERT ALLEN, dealer in Biloxi, are a **phenomenal** bunch of abject jerks. I am tripping to Mobile rather than deal with them, and am writing to Daimler in Germany to complain. But that's another story. Here's the thing: Looking at the setup, it seems to me that the lines should be ziptied or fastened down in some sort of way to keep from vibrating so. There was chafe evidence on the line, although not near the actual break point, which was right at the flange/ferrule thingie. (How bout that for tech talk.) The faces of the break are dull, which incline me to believe there may have been a longtime crack in the line. I'd reference my MANUAL... unfortunately there was none with the car. Therefore I would also appreciate any suggestions. Have gone to MB USA 'classic' page and most likely will purchase from there... but any better ideas are of course appreciated, as are any other salient suggestions. Thanks in advance, tami 1987 300TDT wagon two 18 Square meter catamarans F-27 GS trimaran (isn't that the fashion... list your stuff? ;-) |
