300D transmission problem
I have my 85 300D turbo in at the shop for a transplant transmission.
So I picked up a used donor from an 85 300D turbo at a salvage yard; I bought it to the shop and today the owner says there is a different connection on each for the speedo cable. Mine is a cable connection & the donor has a sensor connection. He said he could try to retrofit it, but not worth the risk. So tomorrow AM I drive wayyyy back down to Miami to get an exchange that has the same connections for speedo. I am bringing both in the trunk of my CD; so they are sure it matches up 100%. Has anyone ever heard of 2 types of connections & why they are different? THanks; ,,,

Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I think the one with the electric speedometer connection is from an SD or some other 126.
There may be some old threads about swapping the tail section of the tranny from one style to the other.

I am just browsing R. Leo's old thread about swapping out the Automatic for a 249 4 spd & if they have all the stuff there at the salvage yard I will be on the phone to my Tranny shop to see if he's game.
Of course I'll print out the thread for him if he is... (??) ....
