Diesel Injection Pump W120.110 180D
I was wondering if someone could help me with a diesel problem. I was given a 1956 MB 180D that is in pieces after it was painted and the previous owner died. His widow gave me the car and wants me to try to put it back on the road. It has not been driven or started in a long time. I drained and cleaned filter in tank, cleaned little fuel filter on left side of engine, and the large fuel filter ahead of the injector pump was replaced and with the hand pump primed the system. Have good fuel flow to the injector pump. Car has glow plugs working but will not start. Dropping a little fuel down the carb/air-intake and it ran a little. I then removed 4 lines from top of injector pump and cranked the engine over with the starter - no fuel coming out. I then removed side plate of the injector pump and found that all lifters are working but on all four positions but the springs on #1, 2 and 4 they are not even toughing the lifters cams - they are in the up position - only #3 goes up and down with the lifter. Anyone have diagram or instructions on how to clean the injector pump. Thanks - Gert
