How to Remove Cruise Control Amp?

My Cruise Control is decidedly non-functional, and I was hoping to start fixing that as my next project.

I found where the CC amp is located, under the kick panel on the driver's side, silver box screwed in real good but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it out.

It seems to be screwed on in two places, one that I can't reach by any means.

Would it be more reasonable just to buy a new amp, and leave it hanging next to where the old one used to be? (I'd still have to test the actuator, obviously.) If not, how do I get the current one out?
